To be a follower of Jesus, you must believe and do and have faith and works.

As we serve and love others, we find our true gift, calling and reason for living.

We should show our love and encouragement to all those who serve God well and help us.

God will bless anyone who believes, serves and gives.

We should have a sorrow and a passion for the lost.

1 Therefore, when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John 2 (though Jesus Himself did not baptize, but His disciples),

Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas. Besides, I do not know whether I baptized any other.

I urge you to pay all deference to such leaders and to enlist under them and be subject to them, as well as to everyone who joins and cooperates [with you] and labors earnestly.

You see his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete.

So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone.

Just as the body is dead without breath,* so also faith is dead without good works.

Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you.

For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit.

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them:

5 so it is with Christ's body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. 6 In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. 7 If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. 8 If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in

They have been a wonderful encouragement to me, as they have been to you. You must show your appreciation to all who serve so well.

Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine.

Elders who do their work well should be respected and paid well, especially those who work hard at both preaching and teaching.

Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

10 For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity* in you. 11 Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.
