If you refuse to remember the Truth, you will fall for the lie.

If we refuse to take God's Word seriously, then we'll forget the very Truths that can save us.

Never underestimate your ability to justify your sinful actions. Don't deny your sin. Confess it and be free.

Look out for self-deception. Without God's help, we'll reject the Truth for a lie, while convincing ourselves we love the Truth.

Sometimes God allows us to experience the powerlessness of our idols so that we will finally turn to Him.

When we chase after only what we want, we will leave a wake of pain and suffering.

11 "Who is like You, O Lord, among the gods?
Who is like You, glorious in holiness,
Fearful in praises, doing wonders?
12 You stretched out Your right hand;
The earth swallowed them.
13 You in Your mercy have led forth
The people whom You have redeemed;
You have guided them in Your strength
To Your holy habitation.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

4 "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!  5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.  6 "And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Yet my people have exchanged their glorious God for worthless idols!

8 If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
