Sin has painful effects. It can hurt us in the present, hinder our future and humiliate our past.

Course corrections are part of the Christian life. A life of repentance will lead to a life of joy.

Rejection of the Word of God is the first step down a long, painful path of deception.

God will never share His glory. We must remove idols from our life or He will do it for us.

Even if our sin has scarred our life, there is still hope in Christ.

Our hearts should break for the lost, leading us to prayer and evangelism.

I will put an end to the happy singing and laughter in the streets of Jerusalem. The joyful voices of bridegrooms and brides will no longer be heard in the towns of Judah. The land will lie in complete desolation.

So David rested with his fathers, and was buried in the City of David.

Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

By humility and the fear of the Lord Are riches and honor and life.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;

1 I can hardly believe the report about the sexual immorality going on among you—something that even pagans don't do. I am told that a man in your church is living in sin with his stepmother. 2 You are so proud of yourselves, but you should be mourning in sorrow and shame.
