Sin makes you dumb and makes you do dumb things.

Whatever you are going through God desires that His power be seen in you.

Wearing the name of Jesus isn't good enough. It's really easy to make a god in our own likeness.

Drop "Plan B" and trust God.

God is relentlessly and gently pursuing you.

Living for pointless things will lead to a life that is pointless.

Reject apathy, pursue godliness and be intentional.

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin brings shame. We are to be against the world for the sake of the world.

False beliefs and misplaced affections result in idolatry.

Studying God shows us how big He is and how small we are.

They return, but not to the Most High

Come, and let us return to the Lord; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up.

² Israel will cry to Me,
‘My God, we know You!’
³ Israel has rejected the good;
The enemy will pursue him.

⁷ "A cunning Canaanite!
Deceitful scales are in his hand;
He loves to oppress.
⁸ And Ephraim said,
'Surely I have become rich,
I have found wealth for myself;
In all my labors
They shall find in me no iniquity that is sin.'

"I drew them with gentle cords, with bands of love, and I was to them as those who take the yoke from their neck. I stooped and fed them."

Also the high places of Aven, the sin of Israel,
Shall be destroyed.
The thorn and thistle shall grow on their altars;
They shall say to the mountains, “Cover us!”
And to the hills, “Fall on us!”

Sow for yourselves righteousness;
Reap in mercy;
Break up your fallow ground,
For it is time to seek the Lord,
Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.

Do not rejoice, O Israel, with joy like other peoples,
For you have played the harlot against your God.
You have made love for hire on every threshing floor.

"Hear this, O priests!
Take heed, O house of Israel!
Give ear, O house of the king!
For yours is the judgment,
Because you have been a snare to Mizpah
And a net spread on Tabor."

Now they sin more and more,
And have made for themselves molded images,
Idols of their silver, according to their skill;
All of it is the work of craftsmen.
They say of them,
“Let the men who sacrifice kiss the calves!”

Hear the word of the Lord,
You children of Israel,
For the Lord brings a charge against the inhabitants of the land:
