Luke 1:38- - Living the Mission that He Chose for You

Life Lesson - Pastor Neal (verse Luke 1:33)

The Word of God is piercing like a sword. When received it changes the thoughts and intents of the heart, forever impacting our lives and those around us.

Life Lesson (verse Luke 1:45)

A kindred spirit in Christ produces genuine joy and mutual edification while motivating one another towards a common goal.

Life Lesson (verse Luke 1:38)

When God is on the move in your life stand ready for change. Be ready to say, “not my will but Yours be done.”

Luke 1:37 ASV

For no word from God shall be void of power.

1 Thess 2:13 NKJV

For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.

Luke 22:42 (partial) NKJV

“Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”

1 Peter 2:4-10 NLT

4 You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor.
5 And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God. 6 As the Scriptures say, “I am placing a cornerstone in Jerusalem, chosen for great honor,  and anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” 7 Yes, you who trust him recognize the honor God has given him. But for those who reject him,  “The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.” 8 And, “He is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they do not obey God’s word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them. 9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 10 “Once you had no identity as a people;     now you are God’s people.  Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”

Eph 4:12-13 NLT

12 Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. 13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.

Eph 4:11 NLT

11 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.

Romans 12:6-8 NLT

6 In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. 7 If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. 8 If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

1 Cor 12:8-10 NLT

8 To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge. 9 The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. 10 He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said.

1 Peter 4:11 NLT

Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.

Mission Statement

My mission in life is to be a servant of the Lord and to love Him with all my heart, mind, soul and strength.  To walk daily with Him and recognize that His grace and mercy are sufficient for me.  I am further called to give of myself to teach, lead, disciple and encourage others in the love and wisdom that God has given to me, so that they too will be equipped in their own personal calling.

Jer 1:5 NKJV

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations.

Psalm 139:13-16 NKJV

13 For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.

Eph 4:3-6 NLT

3 Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.4 For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. 5 There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all.

Is 26:3 NKJV

You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
