Colossians 2:1-6 - Joy, Love, Peace... Pass it On

Life Lesson (verse Colossians 2:1)

God gives us joy, so we can show joy to others.
God gives us love, so we can show love to others.
God gives us shalom, or peace in the storm, so we can show peace to others.

Life Lesson (verse Colossians 2:6)

Jesus is referred to as ‘Savior’ 24 times in the New Testament. In the same New Testament, He is called ‘Lord’ 714 times.

Life Lesson (verse Colossians 2:1)

God wants you to have a deep, abiding joy and peace. While happiness depends on what happens, joy weathers the storms of life.

Life Lesson (verse Colossians 2:6)

When the Bible speaks of following Jesus it is speaking of discipleship, not just evangelism.

John 15:11-13 NKJV

11 "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.  12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.  13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.

John 16:24 NKJV

Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

1 John 1:4 NKJV

And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.

Gal 5:22-24 NKJV

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

Col 1:26 NKJV

the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints.

Col 1:27 NKJV

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Col 2:1-3 NKJV

1 For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh, 2 that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Col 2:1 NLT

I want you to know how much I have agonized for you and for the church at Laodicea, and for many other believers who have never met me personally.

Col 2:2 NLT

I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God's mysterious plan, which is Christ himself.

Col 2:3 NLT

In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Col 2:4 NLT

I am telling you this so no one will deceive you with well-crafted arguments.

Matt 28:18-20 NKJV

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
