As Christians we should work to build our belief in the inspiration of and our knowledge of God’s word. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 – the God-breathed Word Ephesians 6:17 – sword of the spirit is the Word of God

God instructs and encourages us NOT to mix with that part of culture which is not consistent with the direction of God’s Word. It is our job individually to carry that out and part of our witness to culture of our faith in Jesus Christ.

• Holiness in daily living (chapters 11 – 22)
• Holy holidays (chapter 23)

• Dedication and devotion, concerning vows (chapter 27)

This is the first time in Gallup's four-decade trend that biblical literalism has not surpassed biblical skepticism. Meanwhile, about half of Americans -- a proportion largely unchanged over the years -- fall in the middle, saying the Bible is the inspired word of God but that not all of it should be taken literally."

Americans are delaying marriage, and more may be foregoing the institution altogether. At the same time, the share of children born outside of marriage now stands at 41%, up from just 5% in 1960. (Pew Research Center, 12/2014)
