Life Lesson (verse Isaiah 38:)

Are we as deliberate about our spiritual lives as we are about our physical lives?

Life Lesson (verse Isaiah 38:)

When we celebrate communion, we should be building our awareness of the broken body and the shed blood of Jesus Christ and what they mean for our Christian lives.

II Kings 18:3-6 NKJV

And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father David had done. He removed the [a]high places and broke the sacred pillars, cut down the [b]wooden image and broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made; for until those days the children of Israel burned incense to it, and called it [c]Nehushtan. He trusted in the Lord God of Israel, so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor who were before him. For he held fast to the Lord; he did not depart from following Him, but kept His commandments, which the Lord had commanded Moses.

II Chronicle 16:9 NKJV

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.

Genesis 18:19 KJV

For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

Psalm 78:4 – 6 NKJV

We will not hide them from their children, Telling to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done. For He established a testimony in Jacob, And appointed a law in Israel, Which He commanded our fathers, That they should make them known to their children; That the generation to come might know them, The children who would be born, That they may arise and declare them to their children,

Psalm 39:4 – 6 NKJV

“Lord, make me to know my end, And what is the measure of my days, That I may know how frail I am. Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my age is as nothing before You; Certainly every man at his best state is but vapor. Selah Surely every man walks about like a shadow; Surely they [a]busy themselves in vain; He heaps up riches,
And does not know who will gather them.

Psalm 49:6 – 20 NKJV

Those who trust in their wealth And boast in the multitude of their riches, None of them can by any means redeem his brother, Nor give to God a ransom for him— For the redemption of their souls is costly, And it shall cease forever—That he should continue to live eternally, And not [a]see the Pit. 10 For he sees wise men die; Likewise the fool and the senseless person perish, And leave their wealth to others. 11 [b]Their inner thought is that their houses will last forever, Their dwelling places to all generations; They call their lands after their own names. 12 Nevertheless man, though in honor, does not [c]remain; He is like the beasts that perish. 13 This is the way of those who are foolish, And of their posterity who approve their sayings. Selah 14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; Death shall feed on them; The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; And their beauty shall be consumed in [d]the grave, far from their dwelling. 15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of [e]the grave, For He shall receive me. Selah 16 Do not be afraid when one becomes rich, When the glory of his house is increased; 17 For when he dies he shall carry nothing away; His glory shall not descend after him. 18 Though while he lives he blesses himself (For men will praise you when you do well for yourself), 19 He shall go to the generation of his fathers; They shall never see light.[f] 20 A man who is in honor, yet does not understand, Is like the beasts that perish.

Ephesians 5:15 – 16 NKJV

See then that you walk [a]circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Exodus 12:14 NKJV

‘So this day shall be to you a memorial; and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord throughout your generations. You shall keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance.

Luke 22:19 NKJV

And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

I Corinthians 11:30 NKJV

For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many [a]sleep.

Isaiah 53:5 NKJV

But He was wounded[a] for our transgressions, He was [b]bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes[c] we are healed.

I Peter 2:24 NKJV

who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose [a]stripes you were healed.

Luke 2:49 NKJV

And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”
