And when a violent attempt was made by both the Gentiles and Jews, with their rulers, to abuse and stone them,

they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead.

And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to keep them securely.

when they opposed him and blasphemed, he shook his garments

Now when they heard this, they were full of wrath and cried out,

except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me.

And they listened to him until this word, and then they raised their voices and said,"Away with such a fellow from the earth, for he is not fit to live!"

And the high priest Ananias commanded those who stood by him to strike him on the mouth.

Now when there arose a great dissension, the commander, fearing lest Paul might be pulled to pieces by them,

12 And when it was day, some of the Jews banded together and bound themselves under an oath, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.13 Now there were more than forty who had formed this conspiracy.

For we have found this man a plague, a creator of dissension among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes. So surely Paul was a bitter surely man who complained often and ended up stepping down from ministry because of the ungratefulness of the people.

But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.

Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.

But He, knowing their thoughts, said to them: "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls.

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, "Look, the home of God is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. 4 He will remove all of their sorrows, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. For the old world and its evils are gone forever."

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
